Two fer Tuesday - Last of the Flowers!

Last Tuesday was St Micheal's Day or Michaelmas, which in the Christian calendar signifies the beginning of Autumn!
However, that Autumnal feel has been around for a while now, despite the sunshine.
That wilderness I call a garden has just two splashes of colour left.
The Michaelmas Daisies have grown very leggy but bare masses of flowers...
And, some serious weeding gave the Autumn Crocus's room to bloom... Two fer is Jonna's bright idea.

Monday's Monochrome AND Colour Carnival - Sunshine Bikes!

Dreamingspires in & out of term time has bicycles a plenty!

This shot I took with Alieni's Monochrome Weekly meme in mind as B&W seems to do shadows justice...

Further along the same lane, another bike grabbed my attention.

In the shade it may have been, but it's colourful basket decoration made up for that...

Martha is the creator & host of Color Carnival, that simply requires a colourful photo.

Camera Critters Sunday - What's New Pussycat!

As a serious 'window shopper', I always appreciate an unsusual display.

And, one High Street boutique's windows I frequently look in, is the 'White Stuff' - many of it's outfits show up in my photographs for True Colours Thursday.

Last year, they came up with one of my most favourite ever window displays.

So, I was delighted when I found that the Cats are back, all fashionally attired in this seasons new outfits...

The light on Saturday, meant the reflections were a photographic bonus!

And once again, a certain Tom Jones tune is running through my head, "What's New Pussycat!"

Saturday Photo Hunt - Words!

Host tnchick's prompt this week made me smile, as I frequently use three words when one would suffice.
But, The Celebration Cake Shop's words of greeting to first year university students via a cake is very succinct... Dreamingspires new academic year starts officially next Saturday.
However, all Freshers arrive for Michaelmas Term a week early ie today.
And, every year they look younger than ever to me!

Sky Watch Friday - Autumn Blue!

Wordless Wednesday's wine glass photo's were taken on Monday.

Feeling sad because of the personal significance of that day, I went to see my long standing friend & hairdresser Tara, as she's one of the very few people locally who remembers my Mother in person.

After she'd lifted my spirits by expertly cutting my hair - always a moral booster; we went for a lunchtime wine together.

The outside seating @ Kings Arms in Broad Street was amazingly busy - guess the warm Autumn weather was responsible...And, the sky was as blue as any Summer one - views from our bench...

Happy Birthday Sir!

Sir, my favourite Saskatchewan farmer, considers Kraft Dinner, the "The Nectar of the Gods"!
He always laughs & tells me I don't know what I am missing when I wrinkle my nose up in disgust @ the mere thought of it [I hate all forms of Macaroni Cheese].
So, hopefully seeing these particular young ladies enjoying his favourite food should make his day...Happy Birthday Sir!
Hope it's Kraft Dinner [& Wieners] for Supper tonight.

True Colours Thursday - RED!

"RED, it is berry time!" were my words to describe this week colour, so I'll start with a postcard is from friends Maggie & Mitch, who wrote "We couldn't help think of you & True Colours Thursday - berry RED!"...A few more berries & local seasonal colour...

The other week, the cities Town Crier, in his full regalia was out & about advertising a Beer Festival @ the Town Hall...I prefered to 'Window Shopping' for RED, found a striking dress with matching bag...

Then, the RED wellingtons, to complement the outfit, maybe not...

And, I caught one of the confectioners @ The Celebration Cake Shop, adding the finishing touches to this cake...
