The wonderfully colourful image above is entitled

"Pete's Fairy"
I wonder, if you can see why?
It is the work of my friend Beth Stafford from
Art With Love From PiCassieO, who has kindly given me permission to use it.
Thank-you!

Camera Critters - The Portraits!

"I would rather see the portrait of a dog that I know,
than all the allegorical paintings they can show me in the world"
Samuel Johnson
[1709 - 1784]

Both my Welsh Terrier 'nephew' Taffy & Airedale 'niece' Molly, have recently had their portraits done.
They very graciously gave me permission to reproduce them here, with their wonderful selves long side...
Molly's arrived first & her account of it, is in her post 'On the Wall'.
Naturally, Taffy wanted his own & wrote about it in 'My Portrait'.
Both chalk drawings are by amateur artist, C.L. Cotterell, who is obviously exceedingly talented

Out & about earlier this week I spotted this little Smart car with it's colourful paint job, providing a moving advertisement for the local photographic firm...Thought it captured two memes in one!

Taking It Easy! !

I've reported before that marvelous Miss Molly is a 'Garden Girl'.
She frequently offers guidence in the greenhouse...
But, after our visit to the Garden Centre, both she & Taffy, turned their backs on the trays of bedding plants, as if to say - "It's too warm to help today!"...
Infact, Molly found herself a shady garden seat, from which to oversee things from -
"You can begin the planting out now. I'll watch from here"...
And, then promptly, went to sleep till all the work was done...What a wise girl!

Color Carnival (4) - The Garden Centre!

As friend H unlike myself, is green fingered, my stays @ WelshAire Country frequently include a visit to the local Garden Centre - this time was no exception, we went along to Notcutts yesterday.
So, while she bought Summer bedding plants...I wondered around & took in the carnival of floral colours...
Even the potting compost made for a colourful display...And, I just had to smile @ the novel gardeners shopping trolley for mothers with a kiddie in tow - it makes for a very late or early Odd Shot Monday entry...

The new weekly meme Color Carnival is the brainchild of Martha!
A single very colourful photo is all that's called for, but I never do things by halves!

True Colours Thursday - PURPLE!

This weeks colours was requested by Lucy, whose participation after some weeks I hope to see again today - hint, hint!
Like PURPLE's last outing in early January, it's had me frantically searching around!
Once again I found PURPLE flowers - an unusual Tulip, cheeky Pansies, dark fragrant Lilac & a regal Flag Iris...Thankfully, a recent bottle of mellow Merlot wine from Blossom Hill sported a PURPLE logo...
These shoes caught my eye whilst window shopping...
Plus, two of last months birthday cards from friends Samantha and Holly & Zac and Dina
were PURPLE...
But, one PURPLE item I have become very familiar with again this week, courtesy of Welshie 'nephew' Taffy is this one...

And, it was shortly after we'd played PURPLE last time, that I couldn't believe my eyes when passing the Celebration Cake Shops window, my camera was out in an instant...
To participate in True Colours Thursday, all you need, is to post a photo/photographs & text, or better still both, on the specified colour of the week.
Then, LINK back to me & leave a word here, to say you are playing along.
For this meme only, I have again lifted my 'Comment Moderation' to help visiting.
Everyone, who to my knowledge, is or has recently participated, is named & linked in my side bar.
AND, I do generally try to up-date the list throughout the day.
Next weeks colour is IVORY, Cream was suggested by Rinkly Rimes, but I refined it!
If, anyone has a suggestion for a future 'Colour', please feel free to say.

Two fer Tuesday - Sun Pup!

While the newspapers, Radio & TV give health warnings about excessive exposure to sunshine - the wonderful weather continues here - the Taffster, disobeys all such advise, and enjoys basking in it's warmth
Two fer is friend Jonna's idea!
In her own words, "It is easy. You may post whatever you wish, but it must be in pairs"

Virgina Water in Bloom & a Monochrome!!

The southern branch of WELTAF [Welsh Terriers & Friends] walk, or should I say gentle stroll due to the heat, was fun; though, I was repeatedly asked by newcomers to the group, as to when I was getting my own Welshie, which did make me feel a little uncomfortable for once!
Whether it was this, but unfortunately, my canine images were an unpresidented disaster, so this snap of early arrivals in the car park is the only one I'm sharing...
I'm sure Molly & Taffy will do a full photographic report in the next day or so!
We last walked Virginia Water in October but, returned to this lovely spot because @ this time of year, it's famous for its rhododendrons...

And, for my weekly B&W take on things, as one of Aileni's Monochrome Maniacs - peeking through Silver Birches...
