I wonder, if you can see why?
It is the work of my friend Beth Stafford from

Monday's Monochrome & Odd Shot - Tree Trunk Magic!

Yesterday, not needing anything in town but not wanting to be indoors as the sun was shining, I wondered through Christ Church Meadows, that back onto the College.
This tranquil area of ancient pasture & tree-lined paths was bequeathed to the Abbey that was previously on the site in the14th Century & is open daily to the general public unlike the Colleges grounds.
It borders on the River Isis & tributaries from the Cherwell and makes for a lovely stroll.
Following a pathway besides the latter, I was fascinated by this tree of many con-joined trunks & thought it would make an interesting Monochrome, due to the dappled light...
Then, took a random shot looking up into the leaf canopy.
It wasn't till I was home, that I discovered I'd captured two Rainbow Orbs...

The shape of the trunk is well demonstrated in B&W but you would have lost your orbs if you had mono-ed the lower one.

The tree looks really nice in mono, but the orbs are lovely!

Tree trunks can tell whole stories. One only has to look for them.
