The wonderfully colourful image above is entitled

"Pete's Fairy"
I wonder, if you can see why?
It is the work of my friend Beth Stafford from
Art With Love From PiCassieO, who has kindly given me permission to use it.
Thank-you!

The Dilemma!

As a self confessed solitary, who prefers her own company more than most others; hates groups; who is really uncomfortable socialising other than one to one and grows more inclined this way as every year passes - I ask ...'WHAT, the hell was I doing on a social networking site like Facebook'???
I have tried!
Joined years ago, de & re-activated my account according to my mood but mainly to keep contact with my younger Prairieland cousin Peterpan, however, no matter how much I try, am NOT comfortable/happy there.
Yesterday, two new contacts finally DID it for me.
My Cousin, Headmistress, on Facebook was a surprise!
But, her finally joining the Internet world was NOT the problem, good for her!
But, Squeall requesting to become my friend was.
Now you have to be a long standing blog reader of mine, with an even longer memory to recall who she is!
Squeall is Little Buddies sister!
Once they were very close, she, then happily knew of our 'relationship'.
But things have changed, they are now mortal enemies over farmland issues.
Little Buddy reading this, is now curling up in the fetal position in panic!
Rather than risk, a innocent remark leading to a link back to me here, I have again quit Facebook, never to return.
I just hope, my Blog friends that I briefly connected with there, will not take offence & my Cousin will not be further upset with me - Please to both!

Oh the dreaded Facebook - we can't do it. Blogging is so much nicer. Stay here where we like you.

Best of luck

LOL. oh dear, Face book is not a place our mums would feel comfortable with, these blogs are as close as she gets to a comunity. both Mums and dad are recluses, our skin sis is the same, she will only have very close friends on FC and gets so cross when people she who wouldnt bother with her in school want to be her "friend"

I love (below) the Alice post and all the lovely things in the stores and your "stor-ies!" Also re: FB - I've been member for almost two years and check in (one for me and one for Sammie hee hee!) only about once a month. Usually no surprises, but once in a while...! I'm playing your challenge in today's post and thought I should let you know! Thanks for coming up with the neat poem!

I quit facebook and myspace too for similar reasons. Blogging is much more enjoyable!

Ahhh... facebook. Addie has a facebook account because someone had asked her to open one. I hardly have time to keep up with friends blogs (sorry I've been away so long) let alone keep up with all of the requests on facebook. It's neat to see what some old friends look like now but outside of that I don't have time for it.

I LOVE all of your alice in wonderland posts!!

I will never join that book either! I think that it's a load of crap when you see how two faced people can be on it...mainly it's all in seeing many friends you can collect. I prefer my select few whom I trust! Your friends will ALWAYS understand so stay strong!

I love facebook as it is a great way to connect with previous pupils and network with friends..but I do know some people who have had problems. It is those people who seek to cause trouble who are the downside as you point out! I find it quicker than blogging but enjoy both really. I guess the local pals on facebook are people I know well.

I gave up on facebook.

I originally went there because my brother is working abroad and said he put all his photo's and news etc on there, and several of our cousins are on there, blah blah.

But do any of them visit my blog?
Nope, never!
I got fed up being expected to LOG IN and repeat info there that I had already put on my blog and/or emails. I'd get messages on facebook asking how I am and I'd think, well, visit my blog and find out, or read the email I sent you last week, or email ME, don't leave messages that i hvae to log in somewhere to find. They wanted everything revolving round facebook, all in one place. If that's where you put everything then that's convenient for you but if not, it's just more hassle.

It seemed it was ok for me to do a litle extra but not for them to visit blogger, where you don't even have to log in to read something. Seemed all too one-sided.

I also got annoyed with the jargon- e.g., you've been poked, or whatever it was. I just felt like, "Oh GROW UP!!"
-and coming from Bob T Bear's editor, that's saying something.

So I've left, deleted it gone. Sod them. They know where I am if they want me! Hurrumpff!

BTW I haven't had trouble with Friends Reutd. I have info on there but very guarded stuff, no hint of where I'm living or what I do etc. People have been in touch and I can answer or delete their message like it never happened. I have got back in touch with someone from school just this last week. I'm really happy to hear from her again! On the other hand a real creep sent me a message and I just ignored it- it's easy to block and control. I found FB confusing but Friends Reutd has been ok cos you can just leave your name on the school list/work list etc and forget about it till you get a message.

I quite enjoy my facebook. I have reconnected with school chums that I was friends with in my very younger years, they then moved and because I was too little to write, have found where they live and now go to visit them. Its great!
