The wonderfully colourful image above is entitled

"Pete's Fairy"
I wonder, if you can see why?
It is the work of my friend Beth Stafford from
Art With Love From PiCassieO, who has kindly given me permission to use it.

True Colours Thursday - BROWN!

In Winter, BROWNS abound in nature!
The exposed shiny bark seen here in the Botanic Gardens...The dried flower heads, memories of last Summers delights...The now BROWN hedge of a once glorious Copper Beech arbour...But, the new BROWN, of swollen Horsechest trees sticky buds, promises Spring...At home, my BROWNS are not many!
Two necessary Tea-Pots; a Cherry & Walnut wooden money box in the shape of Prairieland Grain Elevator - empty I will add; my Cheque-Book cover with it's witty line and Mr Owl who freely dispenses string...And, my only BROWN jewellery, is this wonderfully grained wooden bead necklace & el-cheapo earrings bought to wear with it...
To participate in True Colours Thursday, all you need, is to post a photo/photographs & text, or better still both, on the specified colour of the week.
Then, leave a me a 'Comment' here, to say you are playing along.
This week, I planned to introduce Mr Linky with his fancy 'sign in' gadget to help out.
But, as many said, BROWN was boring, expect numbers to be down today!
So, will wait & see who stays with the meme when the colour get tough going!
In the meantime, if you want to make new friends & see their 'True Colour' entry - please do check out my sidebar & Comments
I'm sorry, but I still feel the need to have comment moderation in place.
BUT, to help visiting - everyone, who is or has previously participated, is named & linked in my side bar.
AND, I try to up-date throughout the day.
Next weeks colour is sunny YELLOW!
Let's celebrate an early Spring!
If, anyone has a suggestion for a 'Colour', please feel free to say.

Blue, you made the dreariness of brown (boring is a word we are using for it too) into something beautiful - those outside shots are awesome. And we like that necklace a lot. Our post will be up tomorrow.

Woos, the OP Pack

I'm really impressed with the amount of brown you found! Great pictures. I struggled a bit but I hope you like what I came up with.

I just love that wooden necklace to bits. When I said brown was yucky you said 'chocolate' and I'm so pleased you did! It made a difficult colour a little easier.Look forward to seeing you at my place!

Ha! Things could be worse...love it! Also love your Mr Owl string dispenser....my favourite though is the Copper Beech....we have one outside our front door....when we moved here it was just a sapling but now it's huge...I love how it changes through the seasons, so many colours!

Some beautiful browns there. I'm playing, but you already found my brown entry and gosh, NO, that was a huge misunderstanding....Naloma is not for sale. It was the birdhouse that was 'for sale', but it's now for rent. Phew ;-)
I altered the text to clear that up, hopefully. Have a lovely thursday (and I'll try to add an Oxford-photo every thursday).

Browh, my Jeannie says, is the work of the devil. However, you have truly proved her wrong today with your brown pictures! We especially like the first pic and the last pic.

I think she has something against brown because it was the colour of her school uniform.

You have persuaded her otherwise.

love and licks, from Marvin xxxxxx

That necklace is beautiful - the beads are so cleverly made - and I absolutely adore your owl!
I love the patterns of the second seed-head you show, and I don't recognise it. Can you enlighten me?
My browns are posted at last.

Personally I like very much brown colour :-) Brown, green, blue ... these are the main colours of nature that make me feel good. Your set of “brown” photos are great and my favourite is your brown necklace and earrings :-)

Have a wonderful day,

Müge

p.s. My “brown” post is here:

If I click on Mar in your sidebar, I return to my own page. Tried it twice now. Is it a flaw in my computer or in your sidebar?

Hi Blue! I'm playing for the first time this week. Thank you for hosting the game - it was really fun! I've never seen a string owl like that...looks like he's got a scissors, too - nifty!

See ya!

Aweesome pics! Nature makes some awesome browns! Moose and I are playing along this week. As a suggestion for future colors, how about the most colors together (i.e. colorful). Not sure it would work exactly but it is a thought. Thanks for hosting this. It is even more fun than I expected it to be!

say- we noticed the date for yellow says 2007 instead of 2009. I doubt anyone is confused, but us yanks have trouble with your re-arranged dating system! ;-)

Thanks for the True Colors Thursday idea, brown is my favorite color since I'm a brown Bedlington. (actually the term is "liver" but who's counting)

Mom's got some brown beads similar to yours! Nice!
