I wonder, if you can see why?
It is the work of my friend Beth Stafford from

Todays Flowers - Snowed in!

Now, to those living in North America, where Winter is Winter, this may seem really silly!
But, it's snowed!
The UK's Met. Offices forecast was for once, was spot on - I, the sceptic didn't believe them!
However, light white flurries,, have been falling all day here in Dreamingspires - we have about a couple of inches as I type!
Wow!
But, that's NOTHING in comparison to what's hit other parts of the country.
It's the most significant snowfall in 18 years, for London & the SE of England, upto 8"!
Life has subsequently ground to a halt there!
And, around the country - Airports are snowbound, planes grounded; Motorways closed & snarled with abandoned & wrecked vechiles; Buses & Trains are none existent due to icy roads & frozen points.
British Rail says... "It's the wrong type of snow"!!!
The beneficiaries of our inability to cope - children, whose schools are now closed!
And, there is a new 'Severe Weather' warning in place for the next 24 hours!
The Capital could end up with a foot of snow, and the the likes of the North Pennies 3 feet!
Blimey!

I've only ventured out briefly, into my front garden - the neighbours Polyanthus looked pretty miserable in the drifted snow... But, last April's brief but, unexpected heavy snowfall produced the saddest images.
Cherry Blossom engulfed...My Tulips drooped...
Today's Flowers is hosted HERE!
Guess, I should say ... watch this space.
The snow may well get me & my locality yet!

Hi Blue,
Poor flowers! Still, they are pretty surrounded by all that white.

It sounds like you are getting about the same amount as our last snow fall. I hope you have stocked up on the necessities. I doubt your city is geared up for clearing the snow like our town is. Stay warm, and stay inside! No slipping or falling for you.
Love ya,
BJ

It has snowed heavily all day here in the frozen north.

I put some pictures (sadly only mobile phone ones) on Marvin's blog just now.

I cannot get either car out and drive because the steep hill is treacherous and has not been gritted.

However, I agree totally, this country is a total wimp with snow, I could not believe the 1 pm BBC news today with all the chaos.

How do they think Canada copes and the States?

Still its good for a laugh!

love from Jeannie and Marvin xxxxxxxx

ps I have just realised I have not done your book tag, will try to do it tomorrow, Jx

Snow has depressed Husband, because he cannot ride his trike!

I wrote about my first proper experience as trike passenger on Letty's blog just now.

You will laugh, because I was like poor old Wallace (Wallace and Gromit) I wore "the wrong trousers" and nearly tightened my b*m to death with total fear!!!!!!!!!!

I actually like the tulips peeking out of the snow. Maybe it's the color. Here we wouldn't see this much snow on our flowers.
Keep warm.

The flowers still look pretty with all that pristine white surrounding them.

Your photos are lovely, snow and all. A nice selection for Today's Flowers. We're expecting another snowfall here in Northern Virginia (USA). Not sure how much we'll be getting yet.

Hi! Did you enjoy your snow? Its snowing here too. The ground here where I live has been white for a good 3 weeks or more. I like seeing the snow fall, but like for it to melt away too. I think I would like snow better if I had the proper gear for getting out in it. Have a good day!
