Between Christmas & New Year, my favourite city/riverside pub closed for a brief refurbishment.
This included replacing the outside canopy's - they are now all, obligingly, BLACK...
So, they now compliment nicely, the huge crane, that recalls when this spot @ the head of the river, was a working warehouse...
But, given the choice between sitting outside @ this time of year, even with heaters & Winter sunshine, a roaring fire in a BLACK lead grate, in a cosy home, wins hands down...

Those canopies look like wind fodder - but I don't suppose you get our class of gale.
I agree about the fireplace though I am a convert to stoves. No draft.

I love that fireplace. The contrast between the black, the tiles, and the flames has always appealed to me. Though these days I'd rather not bother with the work involved in keeping things looking that good!

A nice selection of blacks. I especially like the warm, cozy fire! It is the coldest its been since I moved back here 4 years ago. But, the umbrellas make for a perfectly designed shot.
Turquoise? I'm ahead of the game. I found a turquoise house!
That fireplace is warming us just looking at it! My winter jacket is black and Mitch's real furcoat is black! I guess black would be easy for us black n tans!
